Dasa Mahavidhya Kavacham

(The armour of the Maha-Vidhyas)

In Tantra, worship of Devi-Shakti is referred to as a Vidya. Of the hundreds of tantrik practices, the worship of the ten major Devi’s is called the Dasa Mahavidya Kavacham. Dasa Mahavidya are the incarnations of Goddess Shakti covering the whole range of feminine divinity. Mahavidya or Extreme Knowledge are the divine incarnations that can provide super natural powers and ultimate knowledge to the sadhaka.

They are Kali, Tara, MahaTripura Sundari (or Shodasi-Sri Vidya), Bhuvaneshwari, Chhinnamasta, Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi, and Kamala. This Mahavidya Kavach is a very powerful kavach and is famous among the sadhakas following Shakti. The Kavach protects from every direction, ghosts, jinns, yakshas and any kind of negative energies.

This Dasa Mahavidya Stotra / Kavach is very important due to its efficacy. Those Sadhak who study this Dasa Mahavidya Kavach daily, he becomes safe from all the impediments and ailments in his life. Goddess bless him to make his life full of joy, happiness and totality.

శ్రీ దశ మహావిద్యా కవచం

|| ఓం గణపతియే నమః ||

॥ వినియోగః ॥

ఓం అస్య శ్రీ మహ-విద్యా-కవచం శ్రీ సదా-శివ ఋషి:, ఉష్ణోక చంద:, శ్రీ మహా-విద్య-దేవత, సర్వ-సిద్ధి-ఫ్రత్యర్థి పాటే వినియోగః ।

॥ రిషియాది న్యాసః ॥

శ్రీ సదా-శివ-రిషియే నమః శిరసి, ఉష్ణోక-ఛందస్సే నమః ముఖె, శ్రీ మహా-విద్య-దేవతాయై నమః హీది, సర్వ-సిద్ధి- ఫ్రత్యర్థి పాటే వినియోగాయ నమః।

॥ మానస-పూజా ॥

ఓం పృథ్వి-తత్వత్మకం గంధం, శ్రీమహా-విద్య-ఫ్రీత్యర్థి సమర్పయామి నమః।

ఓం హం ఆకాశ-తత్వత్మకం పుష్పం, శ్రీమహా-విద్య-ఫ్రీత్యర్థి సమర్పయామి నమః।

ఓం యం వాయు-తత్వత్మకం దూపం, శ్రీమహా-విద్య-ఫ్రీత్యర్థి ద్రపయామి నమః।

ఓం రం అగ్ని-తత్వత్మకం దీపం, శ్రీమహా-విద్య-ఫ్రీత్యర్థి దర్శయామి నమః।

ఓం వం జల-తత్వత్మకం నైవేద్యం, శ్రీమహా-విద్య-ఫ్రీత్యర్థి నివేదయామి నమః।

ఓం సం సర్వ-తత్వత్మకం తాంబూలం, శ్రీమహా-విద్య-ఫ్రీత్యర్థి నివేదయామి నమః।  

శ్రీ దశ మహావిద్యా కవచం

ఓం ప్రాచ్యా రక్షతు మే తారా, కామ-రూపా-నివాశిని ।
ఆగ్నేయాం షోడశి పాతు, యాంయాం ధూమావతి స్వయం ।। 1 ।।

నైరుత్యం భైరవీ పాతు, వారున్యాం భువనేశ్వరి ।
వాయువ్యం సతతం పాతు, చిన్నమాస్తా మహేశ్వరి ।। 2 ।।

కౌబెర్యాం పాతు మే దేవీ, శ్రీ విద్యా భగళా-ముఖి ।
ఐశాన్యాం పాతు మే నిత్యం, మహా-త్రిపుర-సుందరి ।। 3 ।।

ఊర్ధ్వతు రక్షతు మే విద్యా, మాతంగి పీట-వాసిని ।
సర్వతః పాతు మే నిత్యం, కామాఖ్యే కాళికా స్వయం ।। 4 ।।

బ్రహ్మ-రూపా-మహా-విద్యా, సర్వ-విద్యా-మఈ స్వయం ।
శీర్షి: రక్షతు మే దుర్గా, బాలం శ్రీభవ-గేహిణి ।। 5 ।।

త్రిపురా భూ-యుగే పాతు, శర్వాణి పాతు నాసికాం ।
చక్షు:శీం చండికా పాతు, శ్రోతే నీల-సరస్వతీ ।। 6 ।।

ముఖం సౌమ్య-ముఖీ పాతు, గ్రీవాం రక్షతు పార్వతీ ।
జిహ్వం రక్షతు మే దేవీ, జిహ్వా-లలణ-భీషణ ।। 7 ।।

వాగ్-దేవి వదనం పాతు, వక్షః పాతు మహేశ్వరీ ।
బాహు మాహా-బుజ పాతు, కరంగుళీ సురేశ్వరి ।। 8 ।।

పృష్టమతః పాతు భీమాస్యా, కట్యాం దేవీ దిగంబరీ ।
ఉదరం పాతు మే నిత్యం, మహా-విద్యా మహోదరీ ।। 9 ।।

ఉగ్ర-తారా మహాదేవీ, జంగోరు పరి-రక్షతు ।
గుదం ముష్కంచ మేడ్రమ్చ, నాభించ సుర-సుందరీ ।। 10 ।।

పాధాంగుళీ సదా పాతు, భవానీ త్రిదసేశ్వరి ।
రక్త–మాంస అస్తి-మధ్యా ఆదిన్, పాతు దేవీ శవాసన ।। 11 ।।

మహా-భాయేషు ఘోరేషు, మహా-భయ-నివారిణీ ।
పాతు దేవీ మహా-మాయా, కామాఖ్యా-పీట-వాసినీ ।। 12 ।।

బస్మాచల-గాతా దివ్య-సింహాసన-క్రుతస్రయ ।
పాతు శ్రీ కలికా-దేవి, సర్వోత్పతేషు సర్వధ ॥ 13 ॥

రక్షా-హీనంతు యస్థానం, కవచేనాపి వర్జితం ।
తత్సర్వ సర్వదా పాతు, సర్వ-రక్షణ-కారిణీ ।। 14 ।।

ॐ अस्य श्रीमहा-विद्या-कवचस्य श्रीसदा-शिव ॠषि:, उष्णिक छन्द:, श्रीमहा-विद्या-देवता, सर्व-सिद्धी-प्राप्त्यर्थे पाठे विनियोग:।

॥ ॠष्यादी न्यास: ॥

श्रीसदा-शिव-ॠषये नम: शिरसी, उष्णिक-छन्दसे नम: मुखे, श्रीमहा-विद्या-देवतायै नम: ह्रीदी, सर्व-सिद्धी-प्राप्त्यार्थे पाठे विनियोगाय नम:।

॥ मानस-पूजन: ॥

ॐ पृथ्वी-तत्त्वात्मकं गन्धं, श्रीमहा-विद्या-प्रीत्यर्थे समर्पयामी नम:।

ॐ हं आकाश-तत्त्वात्मकं पुष्पं, श्रीमहा-विद्या-प्रीत्यर्थे समर्पयामी नम:।

ॐ यं वायु-तत्त्वात्मकं धुपं, श्रीमहा-विद्या-प्रीत्यर्थे घ्रापयामी नम:।

ॐ रं अग्नी-तत्त्वात्मकं दीपं, श्रीमहा-विद्या-प्रित्यर्थे दर्शयामी नम:।

ॐ वं जल-तत्त्वात्मकं नैवेधं, श्रीमहा-विद्या-प्रीत्यर्थे निवेदयामी नम:।

ॐ सं सर्व-तत्त्वात्मकं ताम्बुलं, श्रीमहा-विद्या-प्रित्यर्थे निवेदयामी नम:।

श्री दश महाविद्या कवचम्  

 ॐ प्राच्यां रक्षतु मे तारा ,काम-रुप-निवासिनी ।
आग्नेयां षोडशी पातु ,याम्यां धुमावती स्वयम ।।१।।

नैर्ॠत्यां भैरवी पातु ,वारुण्यां भुवनेश्वरी ।
वायव्यां सततं पातु ,छिन्नमस्ता महेश्वरी ।।२।।

कौबेर्यां पातु मे देवी ,श्री विद्या बगला-मुखी ।
ऐशान्यां पातु मे नित्यं ,महा-त्रिपुर-सुन्दरी ।।३।।

उर्ध्वं रक्षतु मे विद्या ,मातङ्गी पीठ-वासिनी ।
सर्वत: पातु मे नित्यं ,कामाख्या कालिका स्वयम ।।४।।

ब्रह्म-रुपा-महा-विद्या, सर्व-विद्या -मयी स्वयम् ।
शिर्षे रक्षतु मे दुर्गा, भालं श्रीभव-गेहिनी ।।५।।

त्रिपुरा भ्रु-युगे पातु, शर्वाणी पातु नासिकाम ।
चक्षुषी चण्डिका पातु, श्रीत्रे नील-सरस्वती ।।६।।

मुखं सौम्य-मुखी पातु, ग्रिवां रक्षतु पार्वती ।
जिह्वां रक्षतु मे देवी, जिह्वा-ललन-भीषणा ।।७।।

वाग-देवी वदनं पातु ,वक्ष: पातु महेश्वरी ।
बाहु महा-भुजा पातु ,करांगुली: सुरेश्वरी ।।८।।

पृष्ठमत: पातु भिमास्या, कट्यां देवी दिगम्बरी ।
उदरं पातु मे नित्यं, महा-विद्या महोदरी ।।९।।

उग्र-तारा महा-देवी, जंघोरु परी-रक्षतु ।
गूदं मुष्कं च मेढ्रं च, नाभीं च सुर-सुन्दरी ।।१०।।

पदांगुली: सदा पातु, भवानी त्रिदशेश्वरी ।
रक्तं-मांसास्थी-मज्जादिन, पातु देवी शवासना ।।११।।

महा-भयेषु घोरेषु, महा-भय-निवारीणी ।
पातु देवी महा-माया, कामाख्या-पीठ-वासिनी ।।१२।।

भस्माचल-गता दिव्य-सिंहासन-कृताश्रया ।
पातु श्रीकालिका-देवी, सर्वोत्पातेषु सर्वदा ।।१३।।

रक्षा-हिनं तु यत स्थानं, कवचेनापी वर्जितम ।
तत-सर्व सर्वदा पातु, सर्व-रक्षण-कारीणी ।।१४।।

!! इति श्री दश महाविद्या कवचम् सम्पूर्णम !!

Dasa Mahavidhya Kavacham

॥ Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha ॥

(The starting is made)

॥ Viniyoga ॥

 Om asya sri maha-vidhyaa-kavachasya Sri Sada-Shiva rishi, Ushnika chanda, Sri Maha-Vidhyaa-devatha, Sarva-sidhi-prapthyarthe pate viniyga ।

(Om for the armour of Maha Vidhyaa sage is Lord Sada Shiva, Ushnika meter, the goddess addressed is Maha Vidhya, the reading has been commencing for getting all occult powers.)

(The beginning with Rishi)

॥ Rishyadhi  Nyasa ॥

Sri Sada-Shiva-Rishaye nama Sirasi, Ushnik-Chandase nama Mukhe, Sri Maha-Vidhya-Devathayai nama Hrudhi, Sarva-sidhi-prapthyarthe pate viniyogaya nama।

(Salutations to the sage Sada-shiva, Touch the head and say salutation to Ushnik meter, Touch the face and say salutations to Goddess Maha Vidhyaa, Touch the heart and say salutations to starting of reading which will lead to attainment of all occult powers.)

॥ Manasa  poojan ॥

Om Pruthwi-thathvathmakam Gandham, Sri Maha-Vidhya-preethyarthe samarpayami nama।

(Om to you earth, for the sake of pleasing the Mahavidhyas, I am offering sandal, salutations)

Om Ham Akasa-thathvathmakam pushpam, Sri Maha-Vidhya-preethyarthe samarpayami nama।

(Om Ham to you sky, for the sake of pleasing the Mahavidhyas, I am offering flowers salutations)

Om Yam Vayu-thathvathmakam dhoopam, Sri Maha-Vidhya-preethyarthe drapayami nama।

 (Om Yam to you wind, for the sake of pleasing the Mahavidhyas, I am offering incense salutations)

Om Ram Agni-thathvathmakam dheepam, Sri Maha-Vidhya-preethyarthe darsayami nama।

(Om Ram to you fire, for the sake of pleasing the Mahavidhyas, I am showing lamp salutations)

Om Vam Jala-thathvathmakam Naivedhyam, Sri Maha-Vidhya-preethyarthe nivedayami nama।

(Om Vam to you water, for the sake of pleasing the Mahavidhyas, I am offering food offerings salutations)

Om Sam Sarva-thathvathmakam Thamboolam, Sri Maha-Vidhya-preethyarthe nivedayami nama।

(Om Sam to all elements, for the sake of pleasing the Mahavidhyas, I am offering Thamboola salutations)

Sri Dasa Mahavidya Kavacham

Om Prachyam Rakshathu may Tara, Kama-roopa-nivasini ।
Agneyaam shodasi pathu, Yaamyaam dhoomaavathi swayam ॥ 1 ॥

 (Let me be protected in the East by Tara, who lives in Kama Roopa,
Let Shodasi protect me in the South-East, let dhoomavathi protect me in the South.)

Nairythyam Bhairavi Pathu, Varunyaam  Bhuvaneswari ।
Vayavyaam sathatham pathu, Chhinnamasta Maheswari ॥ 2 ॥

(Let my South-West be protected by Bhairavi   and the West by Bhuvaneswari
Let my North-West be always protected by the great goddess Chinnamastha.)

Kauberyo pathu may Devi, Sri Vidhyaa Bhagalamukhi ।
Eisanyam pathu may nithyam, Maha-Tripura-sundari ॥ 3 ॥

(Let my North side be protected by Goddess Srividhya called Bagala mukhi,
Let my North-East be daily protected by Mahtripura Sundari.)

OOrdhwe rakshathu may Vidhyaa, mathangini peeta-vasini ।
Sarvatha pathu may nithyam, Kamakhyaa Kalikaa swayam ॥ 4 ॥

(Let my top be protected by the vidhyaa called Matangi who sits on the Pita,
Let my all directions be daily protected by Kali Kamakhyaa herself.)

 Brahma-roopaa-Maha-Vidhyaa, sarva-vidhyaa-mayee swayam ।
Seersha rakshathu may Durga, Bhalam SriBhava-Gehini ॥ 5 ॥

(The Maha vidhya who has form of Brahma and is pervaded with Sarva vidhyaa herself,
Let Durga protect my head and my Forehead be protected by she who attracts Shiva.)

 Tripura Bru-yuge pathu, Sarvaani pathu nasikam ।
Chakshushi chandika pathu, srothe neela saraswathi ॥ 6 ॥

(Let Tripura protect both my Eye brows and Sarvani protect my Nose,
Let Chandika protect my Eyes and let my Ears be protected by Neela Saraswathi.)

Mukham Saumya-mukhi pathu, greevaam rakshathu Parvathi ।
Jihvam Rakshathu may devi, jihwa-lalana-bheeshana ॥ 7 ॥

(Let Goddess with peaceful Face protect my Mouth and Let Parvathi protect my Neck,
Let my Tongue be protected by Goddess and movement of Tongue by the fearsome goddess.)

 Vag-Devi vadanam pathu, vaksha pathu Maheswari ।
Bahu Maha-bujaa Pathu, karanguli sureswari ॥ 8 ॥   

(Let the goddess of Speech protects my Face, Let Parvathi protect my Abdomen,
Let Maha Buja protect my Hands, let Goddess of devas protect my Fingers of Hand.)
 Prushtamatha pathu Bheemaasyaa, katyaam devi Digambari ।
Udaram pathu may nithyam, Maha-Vidhyaa mahodhari ॥ 9 ॥

(Let Bheema protect my Back Side and let Goddess dressed with sky protect my Waist,
Let Mahavidhya who has a Huge Stomach, protect daily my Stomach.)

 Ugra-tara maha devi, jamgoru pari-rakshathu ।
Gudham mushkam cha medram cha, naabhim cha sura-sundari ॥ 10 ॥

(Let the ferocious Tara Maha devi protect my Thighs and Knees,
Let my Anus, Testicles and Penis as well as Belly be protected by prettiest of Gods.)

Pathanguli sadaa pathu, Bhavani Tridaseswari ।
Raktham-maamsa asthi-majjadhina, pathu devi savasana ॥ 11 ॥

(Let Bhavani the goddess of three states always protect Fingers of my Feet,
Let the Goddess who sits on corpse protect my Blood, Flesh Bones as well as Fat.)

Maha-bhayeshu ghoreshu, maha-bhaya-nivarini ।
Pathu devi maha-maya, Kamakhyaa-peeta-vasini ॥ 12 ॥

(Let the goddess who removes great Fear protect me from Scary Fear,
And let me be protected by Maha Maya who lives in Kamakhyaa Peeta.)

Basmachala-Gatha Divyaa-Simhasana-kruthasraya ।
Pathu sri Kalika-devi, sravo uthpatheshu sarvadhaa ॥ 13 ॥

(Let her go goes towards mountain of ash, who depends on throne for her acts,
Who is that Kalika devi protect me from all accidents always.)

 Raksha-heenam thu yath sthanam, kavechanapi varjitham ।
Thath-sarva sarvadhaa pathu, sarva-rakshana-karini ॥ 14 ॥

(To all those areas where the Armour has left without protection,
Let The Goddess who always protect, all time and all ways protect.)
